打造地道的雅思写作
我们都知道雅思写作的要求:语法,词汇,连贯性;不要有细小的语法错误;运用多样的单词和词汇;运用复杂的句型,包括各种从句、倒装句和独立主格结构;注重连词的使用等等。所有这些,只*是为了让我们在写作上能够多得那么半分或者一分。但是,如果我们仅仅将目光停留在这些上,写作的gao分就永远遥不可及。因为雅思考试考的是考生在英语*学习和生活的能力,换言之,一切都是以交流沟通为准绳的。雅思9分的定义是:像母语者一样地交流。所以,很大程度上说,雅思考的是我们说的、写的够不够像母语者一样,或者说,我们的表达够不够地道。
但是我们的问题就在这里:我们关注的是我们的作文里写了多少复杂的句子,用了多少复杂的单词;却很少想一想:这个词用在这里合不合适,这个句子表达这个意思会不会过于冗长,这样的语法结构所体现出来的语气适不适合这篇文章。
因此,雅思写作的gao分秘诀,不在于背多少单词,掌握多少句子,而在于我们能不能够恰当地使用这些单词和句子。为了达到恰到好处地使用单词和句子的境界,我们可以做这么几件事情:
1. 背单词的时候搞清楚单词的感情色彩、惯用语境以及在其他语境中的替换词。单词与单词是不用的,有些单词有贬义的色彩,而有些单词较为中性。有些单词的出现代表语境比较轻松,而有些单词只在学术文章中才会出现。这种情况在英语中是很普遍的,甚至一个字母的改变都会带来这种差别。例如在英文名字中,ERIC和ERIK发音相同,但是后者更有一些邪恶的意味,所以大家都用前者。
2. 多写文章,并将自己的文章与范文进行比对。相信很多考生都做过这个事情,但是现在重点不一样。我们对比的目的是找出来表达不一致的地方,并且深入思考为什么不一致。例如,在英语中主语通常不会太长,如果有复杂的从句作主语,那么这个主语一般会挪到句子末尾,避免头重脚轻的情况。但是,汉语由于语法结构的限制,很难做到这一点,因此我们在写英语作文时,就有可能写出带着长长的主语的句子,然而这是完全不符合英语的习惯的。多多进行对比而不是盲目背句型,才明白自己的差距所在。
3. 多读原文。网络的好处在于提供给我们一个空前便捷的信息平台,我们要好好利用。如果有时间,多上网看看英美人士写出来的文章究竟是什么样子。别小看这每天看一点的功夫,如果我们真的用心分析,坚持下来写作一定会突飞猛进。读书破万卷,下笔如有神,这句话不管对中文还是英文,都是有效的。
