一. Which American accent will we learn?
the standard American accent.
broadcaster English (CNN and in educated circles)
It is the accent most commonly associated with educated people in the American East, Midwest
and west.
二.How should I practice?
1. Listen to the recorded material over and over.
2.Repeat after the speaker.
3.Or record your repeating to compare.
4.Practice the new sounds in real-life situations.
三.Warm up - try below words
1. hill, heal
2. sell, sale
3. cup. cop, cap
四.The vowel sounds (a,e,i,o,u)
Production of vowels:
1.front,middle, and back vowels: which part of the tongue to produce the sound
front vowel as in heat, seen
back vowel as in cool, soup
2. high and low vowels:
high vowels: the tongue is pushed up high near the roof of the mouth as in meet,read.
low vowels: the tongue is flat down at the bottom of the mouth as in last, apple.

Pay attention to the tongue and lip positions
