 Hi！My name is Ping. I graduated at University of Minnesota - Twin city campus, with a major in Economics and also a minor in Statistics field. Of course I got several inter opportunities during my college life, like being a side walker, or a private Chinese tutor. But over the past four years, I chose to be a teacher and worked with young students at different stages. I instructed TOEFL listening, ACT science, ACT/SAT math until now. My life is taking some pretty interesting turns and here I am, very happy with my experiences. My teaching style not only focuses on the grade that my students can achieve, I also pay attention to building trust with my studentsand collaboratively creating class routines and procedures, based on respect. Sometimes I will share my own personal stories with my students and try to trigger their own advantages.

My first day in the classroom at the University of Edinburgh was, uh, not pretty. Only the morning, I successfully won my British classmates’ laughter and a ruined reputation by misunderstanding “got a lot further” as “got a lot of fathers”. Only the afternoon, ironically, I soon restored my confidence among my Chinese schoolmates by helping them to ask the price or other details in English while shopping. Even today, this paradoxical episode is summoning me repeatedly, urging me to reflect the current situation of English education in China.

Now, Iam an English teacher, focusing on SAT reading, TOEFL writing, and ACT science for more than five years, and I find that the duty of a teacher is to teach, and at the same time to inspire the students to be interested in what they learn, and to equip students with not only knowledge but also faculties, like duty, perseverance, industry, tact, observation, and caution.

 My name is Bai, and I know it sounds the same as “bye”. My friends in UK always joke around with it. I graduated from York University in England as a MRes (master of research) in ecology and environmental science. And later by chance, I became friends with some artists and decided to ran my own art gallery in Edinburgh, Scotland. It was a great time since I was able to talk with people who worked hard for their own dreams and left aside prejudice and discrimination. Now I am a teacher at METEN, having taught students for over 5 years how to perform well in the writing section in TOEFL, SAT and ACT. Not only do I share my experience, knowledge and skills, but also the belief that children should be encouraged not only to dream but also to persist. I will be happy to see them grow and fully bloom, with both my help and their effort.

小白老师的名号来自于蜡笔小新里的小狗小白，我自己也很喜欢这个称呼。我喜欢这个称呼另有原因。小白就是“什么都不懂”。做人做事都要有一种自己是小白的心态，要humble enough。

   本科昆虫学，毕业于英国约克大学，生态和环境管理的研究硕士，后来却经营一家爱丁堡当地的画廊，和当地各种艺术家混在一起。现在专注于写作教学，看似严格，不易接近，但相处久了会发现是较好“欺负”的老师。

 I’m agirl who is always full of energy. I received my first Master’s Degree inBritish and American Literature from University of International Relations andmy second Master’s Degree in International Relations from Aalborg University inDenmark. Since 2013, I have been a language teacher for over five years, andhave been acquainted with over 2,000 students. I am eager to impart all that Ihave acquired to enlighten these promising youngsters. Hi. My name is Emma. I graduated from Nankai University and majored in Translation. I have been teaching ACT since I was a senior student. Though having become a teacher for years, I always tell myself that I am a student and I have to think as and for a teacher. Great teachers are not those who can ace the test, but those who devote themselves to exploring the reasons why a student fails, which sometimes even can be not so related to knowledge itself. From a student to a teacher, what I deeply believe is that language is no less a way than a tool of thinking and communicating. It needs to be practiced and then etched in our mind.
